Our Story & Heritage
Rooted in American educational excellence and shaped by a rich international community, AIS-R brings together care, rigour and purpose in a way that is both timeless and future-ready. Since 1963, we have served the diverse families of Riyadh — diplomats, business professionals, educators and Saudi families who value an internationally-minded education for their children.
Our community spans more than 60 nationalities, reflecting the global character of Riyadh and the breadth of families who call AIS-R home. That diversity is not incidental — it is one of our greatest educational assets, giving students daily opportunities to develop the intercultural understanding and perspective that will define their lives as global citizens.
Today, AIS-R remains an NEASC-accredited institution licensed by the Saudi Ministry of Education — a school that takes its heritage seriously and its students' futures even more so.
